The Lust List: Fabulous beauty loot we want now!
The products I'm lusting over this week...

This brow defining kit is one cool kid. If you’re after professional looking brows but don’t have time to visit your nearest brow specialist, Brow A-Go-Go will be your lifesaver. Perfect for defining your brows, it includes two brow shaping powders, a wax to help the powder stick, an eyeliner pencil, a highlighting powder, an angled brush and teenie weenie tweezers. Oh, and the lovely people at Benefit even included step by step instructions to make sure your brows are left looking their absolute best. How thoughtful.

Oh how I love Jurlique. I may be a little bias because Jurlique hails from my home state of South Australia, but their products are exceptional. Love Balm is no different. This cute-as-a-button lip balm is nurturing for the lips, soothing and smoothing even the driest lips. And for some even better news? It’s packed with beneficial antioxidants to help prevent any further chapping and dryness.

Bloom: Lip Stain, $22.00
As summer approaches, I’m finding myself thinking more and more about my lips. Not in a weird, creepy, I want to kiss myself kind of way but in terms of makeup. I’m ready to let go of the smokey eye and embrace a fresher look for the warmer months. And that includes colouring my pout in some fabulous lippies and glosses. But after just a couple days, I’m tired of the maintenance. That’s why I’m rocking a lip stain.
Unlike lip stain’s sisters, aka lip stick and lip gloss, this puppy stays put. Apply it once, and you’ll get hours of use. Bloom’s Lip Stain goes on sheer, dries quickly for a matte finished and provides lots of colour. Want a more intense pout? Apply a couple layers, letting it dry in between coats.
I’m loving the Peach stain. A refreshing light melon tint for summer is just what I was craving.

Bio Oil: Isn't She Lovely

Everyone has one. You know, that wonder product that always seems to fix everything. For some it’s Lucas’ Papaw Ointment, for others it’s NIVEA Soft Intensive Moisturising Crème. What’s mine you say? I thought you’d never ask.
Enter stage left: Bio Oil.
There’s nothing this product can’t do. It fades scars and stretch marks, evens out skin tone, is crazy effective on ageing and dehydrated skin, and will even cook you tea. Ok, so I lied about the last one but boy, this product is multi-talented.
In winter, my skin was dry. And by dry, I mean at times embarrassingly flaky. After all that cold wind, blows of hot air from the heater and a few left over crumbs from the pasty I ate at lunch, my face was the queen of Flakesville. Desperate to pack up and move out of town quicker than you can say pasty face, I grabbed for a bottle of Bio Oil. And slathered it all over my face quick smart. Yes that’s right. I put it on my face. And boy did Bio Oil work a treat. There wasn’t a flake in sight.
Bio Oil may be made for those trying to fade scars and stretch marks but if dehydrated skin is unfortunately your thing, try this baby. Rub it in at night after a thorough cleanse while your skin is still damp for maximum effect. The next morning you skin will be glowing. Trust me.
Ever since that first night we met, Bio Oil and I haven’t spent a night apart.

The “I don’t know how I ever survived without it” Tip

Have you got stubborn eyebrow hairs? You’re not alone.
Try plucking them after you’ve had a shower. The heat from the shower will open up your pores, thus making the hair easier to remove. Then tweeze, tweeze as much as you please.
No time for a shower? I thought you’d say that. But luckily for you there is an alternative to stripping down and getting wet. Soak a couple cotton wool pads under warm water and apply them to your eyebrows. Hold the pads firmly in place for a couple or minutes, and ta-da, your pores are all wide open and begging to be tweezed.
Not keen on rocking that bright red skin you’ve been left with? I don’t blame you. Try dabbing some aloe vera on the area or any type of after sun type lotion. Redness be gone.

A vibrating mascara. That's right, vibrating.
Now that I’ve got your attention, its time to introduce you to a new friend of mine - Estee Lauder’s TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara. And let me tell you, he is one spiffy contraption.A world first in mascaras, this lash coating wand packs a punch. A vibrating punch that is. One small twist on the lid and boom! The motion sensations are on their way…
As you buzz the wand through your lashes, each lash is lengthened, fattened up and curled like a curly whirly. Yum, chocolate. But don’t worry, all the weight is going straight to your lashes. (Sigh!)
What a smashing idea for those lazy girls who can’t be bothered to wiggle their fingers while applying mascara. Genius.
What are your thoughts?
Too crazy for 2010?
Or totally amazing, why didn’t we think of it before, fabulous?

You’re excited I can tell.

Why hello there you pretty little thang! And what is it that we have stumbled across here? Oh, I’m glad you asked. It could have got a wee bit awkward otherwise.
Welcome to on counter. Your newest, most favourite alcoholic, lolly water, fruit tasting drink. Hang on. That’s not right. What I meant to say is welcome to this wonderful new blog, titled on counter. It’s a blog about beauty, beauty, oh and more beauty.
On counter is the term used by those in the beauty industry to explain that your car is currently rolling down the street. Just kidding. But you did put the hand brake on didn’t you? Fabulous. On counter means that a product is now available for purchase by all of you wonderful beauty addicts out there. And that includes me. I'm not a beauty insider...yet...so when I've got my hands on the products I'm talking about, so can you.
Why should you read my blog you ask? Well, to some people, beauty can be a little boring. The best part is I’m willing to sift through all the information likely to put any man and his dog to sleep and bring you all the need to know facts, in a cheeky way of course. No boring bits here. Or was that the Street's Cornetto I just ate? Hmmmm…..
So pop in and have a wander through when ever you feel the urge. Just beware, the content may become addictive and I hold no responsibility for compulsive on counter disorders. Your doctor can help you with that.
Yours in love for strawberry flavoured lip gloss,

ps. Technology and I aren’t really great friends. We had a fight in year nine over the last strawberry sunny boy at the canteen and he never got over it. Typical. So please be patient with any unattractive page layouts and funny rotten banana smells.
